Nibthwaite Mills is located in the Lake District National Park on the banks of the River Crake, just one mile away from Coniston Water. This 18th Century former iron furnace and bobbin mill is Grade II listed and a scheduled ancient monument. The building has been sympathetically converted to create an impressive and charming four bedroom home offering well proportioned accommodation. Established as an iron furnace in 1736, Nibthwaite Mills had a rich industrial history in the area until the end of the Second World War.

It was then acquired in a derelict state in the 1980’s and underwent a complete renovation and reconfiguration to create an excellent home designed to enhance the wealth of its original features, charming aesthetics and lovely views. Please note, the property has been priced to sell and is now in need of some maintenance and modernisation. The terraced garden runs down to the mill pond and river, offering a selection of private and unique seating areas from which to enjoy this one of a kind, secluded setting. The 150 metres of river frontage also benefits from riparian fishing rights from the private banking that stretches between the river and the delightful mill pond.

Low Nibthwaite is a small rural community located on a private access lane off the East of Lake Road that runs alongside Coniston Water, famous for its connections with Donald Campbell, Arthur Ransome and John Ruskin. Just under a mile south of Coniston Water, it lies in the Crake Valley, a lovely peaceful, quiet and unspoilt area of the South Lakes.
